Do you get sick while reading in the car?
Nope. I think the people who are riding with me get sick of me though. Of course, I don’t read while I’m driving. That would be dangerous… But it makes me want to start buying audio books for sure.
Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
Hmm. I wouldn’t say its unique to me, but it definitely caught my attention and bounces around in my brain like a song when I’m out hiking… Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman and anything John Keats.
Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
Bah! Harry Potter!
Because of obvious reasons:

- Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it (besides books)?
I don’t carry a book bag. Does that make me not cool?
- Do you smell your books?
Snort! Umm… yes? Every single time? I have this thing to, which is definitely not very smart, where I always press the page side to my lips. I don’t know why! It’s like a really bad OCD thing that I always do. Also, when I’m buying from a thrift store, I always smell the pages. Have you ever bought a used book and opened it up afterwards and the smell literally repulsed you?
Nope. Not again.
- Books with or without little illustrations.
Graphic novels are beautiful. Also, with fantasy novels, like Sarah J. Mass, the maps in the beginning are super fun.
- What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?
Twilight (I have a feeling this one shows up a lot.) Honestly, when I read it, I had no idea. I thought it was phenomenal. But then my idol, Stephen King, did an article about it and mentioned it was horrible writing. I took a look at the book again with a more critical eye.
- Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
Oh jeez! (Face-palm) When I was in elementary school, we had the quiet reading time, in which we had to pick up a book from the library to read for the next week for an hour each day. So I picked up Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George. Whoosh! And just like that, I fell in love with Miyax, the main character who runs away from her young husbands parents home to find San Francisco and her pen pal. She’s only thirteen years old! Already married, unhappily I may add, and living with her in laws. I’d run away too!
The thing is, I got a little too carried away with this book. In the narrative, Miyax, gets lost in the Alaskan Tundra without any of the necessities to live. She ends up living with wolves that accept her. Well… There is a scene where Julie’s feet are raw from all the walking. And for some reason, I don’t recall the scene anymore; I decided that I was going to walk around barefoot, in the woods… at the end of my street, just like Miyax.
To make a long story short, I tried to walk to the Alaskan Tundra and ended up in a parking lot of an A.A. building, stepped on a rusty nail, and got carried back home on the shoulders of a hunky older kid from my neighborhood while my foot swelled up like a water balloon. Ah, the imagination is a wild thing!
- What is the tinniest book on your shelf?
Scanning… Scanning… Scanning… Eek. Well, it may not be the most profound literary book of all time.
The Day I Shot Cupid by Jennifer Love Hewitt.
- What is the thickest book on your shelf?
The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe
- Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
Yes. Yes.
- When did you get into reading?
When I was in the first grade and read The Secret Garden and Tuck Everlasting with my momsy.
- What is your favourite classic book?
To Kill a Mockingbird
- In school what was your best subject Language Arts/English?
Hmm. I’m not sure what this is asking. If it’s asking whether I enjoyed Literature or English/Composition classes in general… Literature classes were definitely my forte.
Otherwise, social sciences and cultural anthropology has always had a very very tender place in my heart.
- If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated, what would you do?
Smile and pretend like it was made of gold. Then after I got home, I’d sit it on the bookshelf and ponder what horrible things to do to its bookish soul.

- What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging?
Bad editing afterwards 
- What is your favorite word?
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious—yeah I haven’t grown up at all.
- Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
I called my mother to answer this one, because my fiancé stared at me like any answer would be a one-way ticket to hell. She said, “I love you. But you’re not a nerd.” I’m assuming that’s her mom-speak for I’m too dumb to be a nerd. “Dork, definitely.” She answered. “Dweeb? You have your moments.”

- Vampires or Fairies? Why?
Fairies. Because every time you say there is no such thing as fairies, a fairy falls dead! I’m not a murderer!
- Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
Shapeshifters, because they can change into anything they want and you can find them in just about every cultural mythology there is.
- Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Werewolves. Sylvia Brown gave me way too many ideas that my family’s spirits watch me while I go to the bathroom. Thank you Sylvia. Thank you so much for making every moment of my existence feel that much more violated.
- Zombies or Vampires? Why?
Zombies, because it scares the crap out of me!
- Love Triangle or Forbidden Love?
Forbidden Love. What? It’s fun.
- And finally: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
Action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in. However if the chemistry between characters is steamy enough, I’ll be rooting for the romance all the way 🙂

Thank you! Believe it or not but that’s the first time I’ve publicly admitted that happened too 🙂 I also had a story about when I tried to build a tower out of all my books and ended up getting beaned in the face by all of them. Bloody nose from books. Only me!
